My husband Chuck and I raised our three sons in Whytecliff on the western edge of our municipality. I have been a committed, active, and engaged advocate for public education for many years. My father was a school trustee, and education continues to be of paramount importance in my family. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Simon Fraser University and worked in the insurance industry for fifteen years. In addition to my work as a trustee and volunteer in the public education system, I have been very active in the community life of West Vancouver. I have been certified as a Hockey Canada coach since 2007 and served on the West Vancouver Minor Hockey Association board of directors, and am past president of Cypress Park Little League. I currently serve on the board of directors for the West Vancouver Historical Society.
The fundamental priority for every Trustee should be student achievement. My vision as an incumbent Board of Education Trustee is to ensure that every child’s potential can be nurtured in an environment that respects and honours personal differences in learning styles and aptitudes while supplying teachers and staff with the resources they need .
As a Trustee I promise to serve the communities of West Vancouver, Bowen Island, and Lions Bay with integrity, dedication and enthusiasm, and continue to uphold the tradition of excellence in public education in West Vancouver.
